An invitation to all budding musicians, songwriters, and singers,
to put their talents to the test in an open competition to pen
a traditional song, preferably with musical compilations. These
will be judged by our experts, and a trophy for the best composition
will be awarded. The trophy will be held for 1 year.
Competition will be held at the Barns Ness hotel on Saturday the
23rd September from 3:00pm with judging at 4:00pm.
Now the rules:
1.
This is an open competition so the contest is open to all ages.
2.
The song lyrics must be original, and of traditional flavour,
however the music can be borrowed from another song but this will
be taken into consideration by the judges.
3.
Joint entries are open, with no limit to the size of ”band”
within reason. This will also be taken into consideration by the
judges.
4.
All entrants must provide their own instruments, although should
there be a need for one there may be obliging people there on
the day.
